The medicine path has shown me that I am not alone and that I belong. Through facilitating numerous journeys and my ongoing explorations, I have come to experience the deep and sometimes hidden bonds that connect us all, like the broad roots of trees that grow side by side in the forest. This shift from the experience of feeling isolated to feeling connected to all is at the centre of my integration practice.
I was adopted as a baby and raised in rural Ontario, Canada, by a first-generation European family. As a mixed-race, brown-skinned child, this was a confusing time as I explored my identity in a world where few people looked like me. I felt isolated and unhappy in my home and had strong feelings of not belonging. As I grew older, I was drawn to city life, travelling and living in places with ethnic and cultural diversity. I studied theology and counselling and was ordained as a Buddhist chaplain. I also claimed my BIPOC and queer identities.
Meditation gave me my first experience of expanded consciousness over 15 years ago. I became more aware of the healing potential of psychedelics when I started working in the addiction field. At that point, I had worked as a psycho-spiritual therapist for almost 20 years and had decided to return to school to complete a Master of Social Work. I wanted to understand the source of the widespread despair I had witnessed within the healthcare system, in my social world and in society at large. It became clear to me that addiction is a health issue rather than a criminal action, and I continue to be committed to advocating for decriminalisation of drugs.
I have worked for 5+ years as a relational, psychedelic-assisted therapist in clinical and retreat settings, facilitating both individual and group programs. I have witnessed personal transformation as well as devastating loss, the peaks and the lows of a growing psychedelic ecosystem.
As a psychodynamic, trauma-focused therapist, I help people ‘go the full distance’ on their path of self-discovery. The more profound work begins after the ceremony or the peak experience ends. I offer an experiential, embodied approach that privileges the authentic over the extraordinary. My approach focuses on longer-term, sustained growth that is directed toward living a meaningful life. People describe me as warm, generous, direct and grounded.
Single Sessions
- Initial Consultation (30-mins) - $30 (this non-refundable deposit will be credited into your first session with Kosu)
- Integration Therapy (60-mins) - $160
- Cannabis-Assisted Therapy (120-mins) - $300
My therapeutic approach focuses on connecting with the here-and-now, relational experience to better understand and integrate past actions and future directions. Using a variety of therapeutic tools (AEDP, sensorimotor, IFS, ACT), I facilitate the exploration of self in relationship to other by connecting with felt sense experience, identifying core values, listening to the inner healing intelligence, naming and embracing authentic self.
I offer a free initial consultation to make sure we are a good fit and then we decide on next steps. Sessions last from 60 to 120 minutes. I also offer virtual, cannabis assisted therapy.
