Key insights

Key insight

600 seconds (or ten minutes) of walking for mindful pleasure a few times a week allows you to enjoy a worry-free moment in your life.

Key insight

During this walking meditation, you’re not trying to get anywhere. There is no arriving, other than continually arriving within the moment you’re in and breathing in a very relaxed, conscious way.

Key insight

With this practice, we’re learning to refine our intimacy with the present moment and the simple experience of enjoying ourselves with no goal in mind. Consider this meditation a way of giving the earth a lovely little massage!

Poignant Reminders

Every path, every street in the world, is your walking meditation path.

— Thich Nhat Hanh

Walk so that your footprints bear only the marks of peaceful joy and complete freedom. To do this you have to learn to let go. Let go of your sorrows, let go of your worries. That is the secret of walking meditation.

— Thich Nhat Hanh

Reflections

What's the quality of your presence and breathe when you're walking?

During a psychedelic experience, how aware of you of the subtle feelings and messages?

How can you integrate more intimate moments of awareness in your day?

Reminder

“Every path I take in the world is my meditation path.”

Mindful walking is a beautiful practice to help us land in the moment we are in. Our only objective is to breathe, relax, and enjoy the act of moving our body. This mindful approach to walking is a simple anchor for moving in life but also for grounding during a psychedelic experience. As we enter expanded states of consciousness, present moment awareness is a superpower we can tap into at any time.
